ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE: Manchester United Make Leicester wait to be Crowned Champions.

Leicester city must wait to claim the Premier League title after being held to a 1-1 draw with Manchester United in a pulsating clash at Old Trafford. Leicester walked into the ‘Theatre of Dreams’ needing any sort of victory to claim their first top-flight title in their 132-year History.

Claudio Ranieri’s men started nervously and found themselves in the backfoot when Antonio Valencia made light work of Christian Fuchs on the left side of the pitch before he picked out Anthony Martial with a pinpoint cross. Martial made easy work of the cross tapping in past Kasper Schmeichel to make it 1-0. This Goal was Anthony Martial’s ninth in the premier league this season.

The Visitors showed character levelling the scores nine minutes later after a Christian Fuchs free-kick was headed home by Wes Morgan.

The second half saw PFA’s Player of the season Riyad Mahrez and teammate Leonardo Ulloa come close, before Chris Smalling’s header rattled the post with just over 10 minutes remaining. Leicester were reduced to 10 men when Danny Drinkwater received his marching orders for a second bookable offence in the 86th minute and held on for a 1-1 draw.

Leicester are now in need of 2 points from their last two games against Everton and Chelsea to secure the title. However, if Tottenham Hotspurs fail to get maximum three points at Stamford Bridge on Monday night they will be crowned Champions, a game that Leicester Manager Claudio Ranieri won’t be watching.

The ‘Tinkerman’ told journalists that he will be going to see his 96-year-old mother today and his return flight on Monday will coincide with the Chelsea versus Tottenham match.

Other Fixtures played on Sunday saw Liverpool lose 3-1 at the Liberty Stadium in Wales against Swansea.
